NATHAN DAVIS

dreamer

lyrics and music by Nathan Davis

I could cry Monday and see it rain tomorrow;
I could say something to make sense of all this sorrow.
I could have anything;
I could have the sea;
I could hold the stars in the sky,
If I could lose the pain inside of me.

Tonight I walk so slowly in a drunken stealth;
But I'll survive the darkness, unless I miss myself.
I could have anything;
I could hold the hand of the wind;
I could lose the fear that rages in my soul,
If I only had you to hold.

I guess I'm just a dreamer;
I guess I'm just a dreamer.
Oh, I'm just a dreamer;
I think I'll always be. . .

I could have anything;
I could have the sky;
I could hold onto your memory,
And never understand why.
I could have anything;
I could have the moon;
I can have anything in the whole wide world,
But I can never have you.

Something in my soul just won't let you go;
And the winter rain keeps calling your name,
As I go insane.

I guess I'm just a dreamer;
I guess I'm just a dreamer.
Oh, I'm just a dreamer;
I think I'll always be,
Maybe. . .

That's another thing, when Nate performed, I felt it. Not many performers can get to me that way. He poured out his heart and guts on stage for all to see. . . so un-afraid. . . Nate was awesome.
